Philippines Annual Conference East of the United Methodist Church

Aldersgate PPTF (Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving Fellowship) is celebrated every Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m. The PACE United Methodist Men’s organization sponsors this weekly gathering in different local churches. On June 28, 2006, it was held at Lagro UMC.

Atty. Mar de los Santos, Lagro UMC Church Council Chair welcomed the 110 men and women from all over the annual conference. The LUMC Band led during the praise and fellowship time. Sister Erlinda Madrid, who was introduced as the oldest member of Lagro UMC and was never absent during all the services, gave a short testimony. The intercessory prayers were offered by Engr. Tomas Rizo, Jr., (for those who are sick, those who are depressed, those who are looking for a job, those who need financial help, those who are experiencing injustice and oppression, those who need comfort and spiritual strength, those who are grieving over the loss of loved ones), Mr. Jaime Tuazon (for the nation, peace and order, economic and political stability, administration and governance of leaders), and Mr. Amador Balla (for church leaders – bishops, district superintendents, pastors, deaconesses, lay leaders, church council officers, organization officers, and program activities). Two teachers – Rebecca Almazar and Norma Andres – sang “His Eye is on the Sparrow.” The Lagro UMM’s Choir led by the host administrative pastor (soloist) sang “Blessed Assurance.” Thirty-six church workers from the local churches sang two Tagalog hymns. In the absence of the three district superintendents of the annual conference, Rev. Anacleto G.Guerrero of Fairview Park UMC was requested to offer the closing prayer and pronounce the benediction. No one was assigned to preach that day.
